Frequently asked questions

At Inner Resolve, the therapy is designed to fit you rather than the other way round, helping you to achieve the change you want quickly and efficiently. Seeking therapy can often be a daunting experience and there may be so many questions running through your mind or you may not know what to ask.

Below I have also answered some ‘common’ questions that have arisen. You can also visit my hypnotherapy questions page which deals with some common questions specific to hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

However, I appreciate you will have your own questions about hypnotherapy and the services at Inner Resolve and I am more than happy to answer them. That is what I am here for, so please do not hesitate to contact me. Your initial consultation will also allow enough time for you to ask as many questions as you like.

1. How many sessions will I need?

This question is impossible to answer before we meet and have a chance to explore your needs further.
Just as we are all different, every issue is also different and in particular how we respond to such issues.
Some issues may require just a few sessions to achieve the desired outcome you seek. Others, due to their severity, may require a longer-term process.
My aim is to work in partnership with you in providing a bespoke service for you to reach the place you want to be, at the pace that is comfortable to you.

2. What is the cost for a therapy session?

Each therapy session lasts an hour at a cost of £50.00. Payment is by cash or bank transfer. I have private therapy rooms in Manchester city centre. Appointments are flexible according to your needs. Home visits can also be arranged.

3. What if I need to cancel/rearrange my appointment?

It is absolutely fine if you need to cancel but I do ask that you provide me with advance notice. My cancellation policy is 72 hours; payment in full remains due for sessions cancelled within this time period. This policy exists to preserve the availability of appointments for all clients.
If you need to cancel, I will do my very best to offer an alternative meeting time or date within the same week.

4. What happens if you suddenly become unavailable?

Should I need to cancel or reschedule a booked session, I will do all I can to ensure that you are inconvenienced as little as possible, and will give a minimum of 72 hours’ notice of cancellation wherever possible. My clinical supervisor will also have access to your details and will ensure your ongoing care if I suddenly become unavailable.
I do take occasional breaks. I will endeavour to let you know of these dates well in advance of the break.

5. Will everything be confidential?

Confidentiality is the cornerstone of my practice and of vital importance to me not only as a therapist but also as a person. I also adhere to the codes of ethics of the CNHC and the NSTT. Everything is confidential from the initial contact and will remain so even after the therapeutic relationship comes to an end.

6. Where can I find testimonials?

I do not publish testimonials from clients on my website. Notwithstanding that testimonials are unethical in accordance with code of ethics of the NSTT; they need to be able to be verified in order to comply with advertising standards which would breach the confidentiality of my clients.

Exceptions to confidentiality

There are certain instances where I would be legally obliged to breach confidentiality and make disclosure to the relevant authorities:

  • I become aware of information relating to an act of terrorism, female genital mutilation, drug trafficking and/or money laundering.
  • A past, present or future incident/situation that may be dangerous or harmful to you, another adult or a child and that is not known to the relevant authorities.
  • Future or past criminal activity that has not been resolved in law.

I will work with you to see if we can work together to make appropriate disclosures.

Furthermore, I may discuss your case with my clinical supervisor who will have access to your details. I may talk or write to your GP but I will not give any personal details beyond what we are working on.
